So today I sent Alec off , for the first time, in my car.. all alone.. to do errands and to go to work. He got his drivers license on Tuesday. Have you done this with one of your own offsprings yet? After I got over the shock of the increased amount in auto insurance ( almost $200.00 INCREASE, a MONTH) And after we set major ground rules ( including if you get in a car accident and you are not dead or in a coma, you will quickly be dropped from my insurance, you will never drive my car again, AND you will pay the $500.00 deductible to get my car fixed), He was off. He was kind and text messaged me with each stop, to let me know he was safe, or more importantly, my car was safe. I am also making him pay half the insurance due to the fact that he didnt qualify for the "good student discount rate" and that he has a job. I kindly reminded him that this was NOT HIS RIGHT , as he seems to think, and I can take it away anytime I want, if he doesnt behave. Let me just tell you now, I hate it. I hate that he is driving in my car out there.. on the mean roads of Covington WA.
I Got Alec part of his Graduation presant last week, $700.00 part of it. I cant share it with you here, cause he just may read this blog and I dont know about it, But I can tell you, its AMAZINGLY wonderful, I dont think I can ever top this gift, And I cant wait to give it to him, Just 4 more months. If you are interested in what this fabulous gift is, feel free to email me, I will fill you in.
Sam and I filled out his Valentines for his school party today.. well , he did it, then I corrected them cause half of them were TO: sam, not FROM: sam....
We are waiting on a phone call in this house tonight, Waiting to find out what Team picked Jake for Baseball, Because he is a catcher, he already knows he made a team, The catchers were all told they were going to make it, and that they would get a phone call Sunday night as to which team.... Its Sunday night, Jake is waiting, He is cool though.. he knows he sealed his spot . I of course want to know who we will be dealing with for the next four months...
OHHH I almost forgot, I got the TODAY SPECIAL VALUE from QVC today! ITs this fabulous item:
Isnt it wonderful?? 10 x optical ZOOM 7.1 MP !!! Perfect for those baseball games, GRADUATIONS, RED SOX GAMES.. and taking wonderful family photos!!! I AM giddy I am so excited!!! I got it this AM, and I cant wait to get it!
On to other news.. I reached a milestone in my weightloss a week back, the 35lb mark!! I still havent taken a photo, but I will soon, It is so slow in the making, I hate how long it takes to lose weight. I wish I could just snap my fingers and have it be gone...
Ok, I do think that is it.. I will leave you with a little thing Sam said on Friday as I was taking him to school.
SAM: Daddy said I was going to have lots of fun on my field trip, But I dont think so.
Me: you will have lots of Fun Sam, I promise.
AFTER SCHOOL:
ME: Sam did you have a good time at the Library?
Sam: I had a REALLY GOOD TIME.... You were right...
How often do we hear that from our children??

Now I know why you haven't posted, your life has been so busy! It doesn't get easier, even when they drive their own cars and their own insurance. You still worry.
Are you wondering if Jake made JV or Varsity or is the community park? I forget how old he is.
Cherish all these wonderful moments with these boys. They go by way to fast.
Congrats on the weight loss, just remember, it didn't go one overnight, it's not coming off over night!
Glad you blogged!
:J
That was well worth the wait. :)
Let's see, first of all you are the coolest mom ever to even be paying 1/2 of Alec's insurance. My mother NEVER did that for me. I don't think the thought even crossed her mind. If I wanted to drive I had to pay the insurance. So, cool points for you.
Heck yes I want to know what you got Alec for graduation. EMAIL ME!
Awesome camera! I am still trying to master mine and I have had it for a year and a half. So you figure yours out and then you can teach me. :)
YEAH to Jake! How awesome is it that he already knows he made a team. Can you just picture all those other boys waiting by the phone to find out if they made it at all? The pressure!!!
Congratulations on 35 pounds!!! That is fantastic!
enjoy that camera...
I do remember how scary it was for me to have teen drivers. My son and I worked out a deal where he earned drive time by running his sister to and from gymnastics etc and then could use the car on weekends with the time earned.
Congrats on getting your new camera. I love mine. That was such a fantastic deal, too. I sure do remember when my DD started driving by herself. It was so scary. It was a long time before I could relax!
